Independent Disciplinary update: Amy Cokayne Decision
England number 2, Amy Cokayne, today appeared before an independent Disciplinary Committee via video link having received a red card as the result of two yellow cards issued for offences contrary to Laws 9.18 and 9.13 in the match between Scotland and England on Saturday 13th April 2024.
The independent Disciplinary Committee was chaired by Rhian Williams (Wales), joined by former referees Valeriu Toma (Romania) and Donal Courtney (Ireland).
Having accepted that the acts of foul play justified the red card and by applying World Rugby’s sanctioning provisions, the Disciplinary Committee determined that a two-week entry point was appropriate with the full 50% mitigation applied, reducing the sanction to one week.
The suspension will cover the following match:
20 April 2024 – England vs Ireland, Six Nations
The player was reminded of her right of appeal.
