A 28-15 victory over Wales Under-20s in at Colwyn Bay last year sealed the title for the Red Rose and they will relish a return to France, where they won the Junior World Championship – again at the expense of Wales – in the summer.

Last year’s runners-up start at home against Italy Under-20s while Ireland Under-20s host Scotland Under-20s with all three matches broadcast live on Friday January 31.

The following Friday Ireland play Wales at Athlone and England face Scotland at Galashiels, with France hosting Italy on the Saturday.

England and Wales will meet on the penultimate weekend at Kingston Park, home of English Premiership side Newcastle Falcons, with Ireland hosting Italy and Scotland at home to France.

The Red Rose will end their campaign in Italy with Wales finishing at home to Scotland and Ireland in Tarbes to tackle France.

Ireland inflicted only England’s second defeat in 14 RBS 6 Nations matches last season but lost either side of that second round game to Wales and then Scotland, finishing third.

The Irish will travel to Northampton to face England at Franklin’s Gardens this year in round three in between hosting Wales and Italy.

Scotland’s other victory last season came against Italy, who they are away to in round three this year, with Wales hosting France on the middle weekend.
