Ireland got their 2021 Women’s Six Nations campaign underway in sumptuous fashion with a comprehensive 45-0 win over Wales in Cardiff.
The Pool B bonus point was secured before half-time at Cardiff Arms Park, with try doubles from Beibhinn Parsons and Eimear Considine kickstarting an electric first half.
Sene Naoupu crossed for a fifth before the half-hour, putting Ireland 31-0 up at the break, while Dorothy Wall and Women’s Six Nations Player of the Match Hannah Tyrrell wrapped things up with second-half tries.
An enthralling winner-takes-all showdown now awaits at Energia Park with Ireland and France facing off in a battle to top Pool B next Saturday.
The winner of that match will go on to face Pool A winners England on Super Saturday.
