France secured the runners-up spot in the 2021 Six Nations Under-20s with a hard-earned 34-28 win over 2019 champions Ireland at Cardiff Arms Park.
In a try-filled first half, Jamie Osborne and skipper Alex Kendellen went over for Ireland, while Thibault Debaes, Pierre Bochaton and Paul Mallez tries gave Les Bleuets a slender lead at the break.
The second period proved much cagier and a Louis Bielle-Biarrey score put France on course for victory, with Kendellen’s second at the death ultimately proving too little too late.
