Round 5 of the Guinness Six Nations saw France complete their tenth Grand Slam, and there were some intriguing numbers to emerge from the Championship.

Les Bleus beat Eddie Jones’ England 25-13 to make it five from five, and despite Italy recording an historic win against Wales, it will be Fabien Galthié’s side who go down as the big winners from this year’s Championship.

So as we get the chance to reflect on a fantastic Guinness Six Nations, here are some of the big numbers that helped France on their way to a historic Grand Slam.

6 – The number of Six Nations deciders that France have won in a row, last losing such a match in 1991 against England. It is also the number of turnovers won by Grégory Alldritt during this year’s Championship, joint top alongside Toa Halafihi, Alex Dombrandt and Maro Itoje.

4 – The number of try assists Romain Ntamack recorded during this year’s Guinness Six Nations, more than any other player.

13 – The total number of minutes France trailed over the course of the 2022 Championship, all in the first half of their opening win over Italy. From the 34th minute of that game, they did not trail again.

54 – The number of points scored by Melvyn Jaminet during the 2022 Guinness Six Nations, the most of any France player and second.

260 – The number of metres Gabin Villière made with the ball, more than any other player in Galthié’s side.

64 – The number of tackles made by Anthony Jelonch. His defensive exploits were essential when France had their backs against the wall.

5424 – The number of kicking metres France made during the 2022 Guinness Six Nations, the most of any side in the Championship.

90.2 – The percentage of tackles France made that were successful.

65 – The number of carries made by Alldritt during this edition of Rugby’s Greatest Championship.

8 – The number of offloads France stars Antoine Dupont and Cyril Baille made as they helped their side to the Grand Slam. This was the joint highest in the 2022 Guinness Six Nations.

100 – Peato Mauvaka’s success rate while throwing at the lineout from 23 attempts.
