France ended a 12-year wait by claiming the Grand Slam on Saturday in Paris and the dust is now settling on the 2022 Guinness Six Nations.
You the fans have been voting for your Team of the Championship, with more than 60,000 votes cast on Twitter.
Unsurprisingly, it is France who dominate the team with 11 players in total, a fitting recognition of their campaign.
Ireland came second in the table and that is acknowledged with three players in this team, with England providing the final member of the XV.
Antoine Dupont, Grégory Alldritt and Josh van der Flier, the three nominees for Guinness Six Nations Player of the Championship, have all made the cut.
15. Hugo Keenan (Ireland)
In what was one of the closest battles of the lot, Hugo Keenan gets the full-back berth ahead of Melvyn Jaminet and Ange Capuozzo, his consistency for Ireland standing out, with the highlight coming in the final game with a stunning cover tackle on Stuart Hogg.
14. Damian Penaud (France)
The joint top try-scorer in the Championship, Damian Penaud was voted in over Darcy Graham after a stellar campaign. In the form of his life at the moment, his ability to maraud infield causes defences no end of problems and helped him follow in the footsteps of father Alain in winning a Slam.
13. Gaël Fickou (France)
The veteran in the France side even though he still will not turn 28 for a couple of days. Gaël Fickou arguably saved his best performance for the final game, scoring the opening try against England as well as earning two crucial turnovers.
12. Jonathan Danty (France)
He might have missed the win over Ireland, but Jonathan Danty did enough to get in ahead of Bundee Aki. An absolute menace at the breakdown, his ability to carry in traffic was key to France’s attack, either as dummy runner or to get over the gainline.
11. Gabin Villière (France)
A hat-trick in Round One, followed by an even better display a week later against Ireland. Gabin Villière had an exceptional campaign, even if he missed the win in Scotland. The former sevens star does things that no other winger can and was voted in ahead of Monty Ioane.
10. Romain Ntamack (France)
Another relatively tight one, but in the end Romain Ntamack got the nod over Marcus Smith, his former age-group rival. Everything that Ntamack does is about making his teammates look good, and that clearly worked during this campaign. No one had more try assists (4).
9. Antoine Dupont (France)
The most one-sided vote of the entire team, France skipper Antoine Dupont earned a whopping 83 percent of your votes. His tries against Ireland and England were crucial, he led from the front in attack and defence and is the heartbeat of this France team.
1. Cyril Baille (France)
He faced competition from Ellis Genge, but Cyril Baille is your first choice at loosehead, and it’s not hard to see why. Only Monty Ioane had more than his eight offloads, and Baille’s influence in the French attack is impossible to overstate.
2. Julien Marchand (France)
Joining his Toulouse teammate in the front row is Julien Marchand, who enjoyed a fantastic Championship with probably his best performance coming in the win over England. His dynamism with ball in hand and ability at the breakdown get him in, with Ireland’s Dan Sheehan second in voting.
3. Tadhg Furlong (Ireland)
The second Irishman to make the list, tighthead prop Tadhg Furlong gets in for his fine showings as the bedrock of the Ireland pack. Like Baille, his distribution is otherworldly for a prop, a skill that was particularly evident in the opening win over Wales.
4. Maro Itoje (England)
The only Englishman in the team, and probably in large part to a sensational display as part of the 14 men against Ireland. Maro Itoje just beats out Cameron Woki after a campaign in which he recorded six turnovers, the joint most of any player while only Woki and Federico Ruzza claimed more lineouts.
5. Paul Willemse (France)
One of the symbols of this new-look France team, a slimmed down Paul Willemse remains one of the most intimidating tacklers in the game, as Liam Williams, among others, found out. The Montpellier lock also finished off a stunning try against Scotland and earns a spot ahead of Tadhg Beirne.
6. François Cros (France)
Nicknamed Mr Clean in the France team, François Cros might be the least well-known member of the side but is one of the most important. His try against England before half-time was crucial and he gets the nod over Rory Darge and Courtney Lawes in a close vote.
7. Josh van der Flier (Ireland)
One of the Guinness Six Nations Player of the Championship nominees after taking his game to another level, Josh van der Flier was exceptional for Ireland. As well as tries against France and Scotland, it was his work on both sides of the ball that earned him a spot in this team.
8. Grégory Alldritt (France)
The last of the Guinness Six Nations Player of the Championship contenders, Grégory Alldritt does it all for the French pack. The leading carrier in the competition, he also topped the turnover charts, racked up seven offloads and was in the top ten for tackles made. All in all, a machine of a player.
