Dupont returns for France this Autumn Nations Series

Antoine Dupont 26/2/2022
Scrum-half Antoine Dupont has been named in Fabien Galthié's France squad following his successful Olympic sojourn in rugby sevens.

France have unveiled a list of 42 players for their Autumn Nations Series matches against Japan, New Zealand and Argentina at the Stade de France - with all games shown live on TNT Sports. It is little surprise that Dupont is straight back in the squad, with hopes that he can jump-start a rocky year for Les Bleus.

A notable absentee is Romain Ntamack, who is recovering from a torn calf muscle. After Dupont, fly-half Ntamack has been the player France have most missed in recent campaigns. However, it's thought the 25-year-old Toulouse man could link back up with the squad in preparation for the huge match against the All Blacks, whom France will be aiming to defeat for the third time in a row.

While Gregory Alldritt and Baptiste Serin stood in as captains during Dupont's absence, it's likely the scrum-half will be granted the armband once again this November.

Another notable inclusion is Toulouse's Joshua Brennan, son of Ireland international Trevor Brennan, who also played for Les Rouge et Noir from 2002 to 2007. The younger Brennan, 22, has captained France at age grade level, and made his debut for the Top 14 club at just 18 years old.
