Fin B
We caught up with Harlequins and England prop Fin Baxter on his love for Bake Off, views on Interstellar, and his bucket list trip.

Coffee of choice?

I’m an Americano man.

Who makes the best / worst coffee in camp?

The best is Jamie [George], and the worst… I’m probably up there.

Who would play you in a biopic?

Alan Ritchson [star of Reacher].

Is there a player you wish you could have played with?

David Pocock will be up there.

Who are you glad to have never played against?

Mates from school! I always enjoyed playing the big dogs and superstars, because that’s the level you want to get to. But with your mates you know really well, it’s always feistier.

What is something people would be surprised to learn about you?

I am currently studying economics, and I was - up until this season - a Fulham season ticket holder until I got priced out.

If you could play any other position, what would it be and why?

12 [inside-centre]. It’s the perfect balance of being able to carry a lot, tackle loads, and you're not getting exposed pace-wise, which is my weakness!

Rugby aspirations over the next five years?

The 2027 Rugby World Cup is definitely a main aim, but right now I want to keep getting more caps, improving and cementing my position in the squad.

What film or TV show do you feel is overrated?

I love Christopher Nolan films, but when people say Inception or Interstellar are their favourite films, I am always a bit sceptical.

What’s your favourite TV show?

I love the weekly Great British Bake Off and Taskmaster. They’re an absolute joy to my evenings. I try not to watch them live so I can fully concentrate and enjoy!

If you could be a professional sportsperson in another sport, what would you choose and why?

Golf. Travel the wor;d, you are not too physically sore and it’s a nice way to spend some time.

The player with the best and worst fashion sense in camp?

Any of the backs are best dressed. The worst is definitely Chandler [Cunningham-South] and his baggy trousers.

If you could have dinner with any three people, who would they be?

Loyle Carner the musician, James Acaster the comedian, and my best mate Harry

What’s your music of choice on game day?

I’m not a music man, I like the silence of the bus to start with, but then the buzz and noise when you walk in.

What does a perfect day off look like for you?

Definitely a lie-in! Brekkie with some sort of eggs, no university work having to be done also helps. I love the cinema as well, so a film trip in the afternoon.

What is your bucket list of things to do in your life outside of rugby?

I would love to go on a cycling tour of Switzerland or take a big old road trip. That’s some of the best travelling you can do.

Which England teammate would you take backpacking across the world with you?

Theo Dan, I reckon. He went to Colombia for a good amount of time after the [New Zealand] tour in the summer, so he’s got some skill in that department.

Favourite U20 Six Nations memory?

It would have to be the Grand Slam in 2021. That was an awesome experience.

England welcome New Zealand, Australia, South Africa and Japan to Allianz Stadium on consecutive weekends this November - all live on TNT Sports. Find out everything you need to know this year's about Autumn Nations Series here.
