England hooker Jamie George will miss the entirety of the Autumn Nations Series after it was confirmed he had suffered a foot injury.
The 31-year-old withdrew from the England training squad ahead of the autumn fixtures and his club Saracens have now confirmed that he suffered a foot injury while in action against Leicester Tigers at the weekend.
The injury will keep him out for ten weeks, ruling him out of England’s four upcoming Tests, with a return in early December.
It is a blow for England, with George having featured in every game of the Guinness Six Nations for England before starting all three Tests in the series victory in Australia in the summer.
George withdrew from England’s training squad alongside fellow hooker Jack Walker, with uncapped George McGuigan and Gloucester’s Jack Singleton called up in their place.
Luke Cowan-Dickie would seem to be the front runner to start under Eddie Jones now, with matches against Argentina, Japan, New Zealand and South Africa.
