Ireland have issued a squad update ahead of their clash with Georgia on Sunday.

Andy Farrell’s men will welcome the Lelos to Dublin for their final Group A fixture as the Men in Green look to bounce back from their 18-7 defeat to England last time out.

While that victory means the Red Rose are in pole position to finish top and contest the Autumn Nations Cup showpiece, Ireland will be keen to secure the highest possible placing.

But it looks likely they will have to face Georgia without prop Ed Byrne, whose calf tightness ruled him out of playing a role in the defeat at Twickenham.

He will continue his rehab this week and Ulster’s Eric O’Sullivan joins the squad to provide additional cover should Byrne not be available for selection.

John Ryan also flagged an issue during the warm-up which was treated but flared up again during the second half, although he is expected to be able to train fully this week.

Ireland skipper Johnny Sexton and centre Robbie Henshaw will continue their respective rehab programmes at the IRFU’s HPC this week.

Ireland will host Georgia at the Aviva Stadium on Sunday (KO 2pm) in their third fixture of the Autumn Nations Cup competition.

The game will be televised by both RTE and Channel 4.
