Giorgi Kveseladze’s breathtaking effort for Georgia against Ireland in Dublin has claimed the Try of the Round prize for Round 3 after dominating the public vote.
The centre won the Round 3 contest by a landslide as his stunning score – Georgia’s first of the tournament – tallied a huge 91.9% of the vote to finish ahead of the other three entries.
His nearest rival was France’s Gabin Villiere, who finished second with 3.7% of the vote after his sensational score in his side’s pulsating 36-5 victory over Italy in Paris.
Italy’s Carlo Canna took third place with 2.8% of the vote for his own sizzling effort in the same game while Johnny Williams was fourth (1.6%) for his maiden try against England.
Kveseladze has matched Jonny May in completing the Try of the Round and Player of the Round double, with the England winger winning both competitions in Round 2.
The Georgian also won the Player of the Round contest with ease, receiving 88.7% of the vote to finish ahead of Johnny Williams (Wales), Sam Underhill (England) and Brice Dulin (France).
And his remarkable try at the Aviva Stadium has seen Kveseladze top the standings again.
The centre picked up the ball on halfway, threw a couple of dummies and brushed off a series of would-be tacklers as he weaved his way through scrambling Irish defenders all the way to the line.
That helped him to a team-high 59 metres with ball in hand, while he also made an incredible 17 tackles, including a bone-crunching hit on CJ Stander to demonstrate his defensive prowess.
