England centre Riki Flutey has confirmed he will return to London Wasps next season after agreeing a three-year deal.

The New Zealand born star, who has won 13 caps and made four appearances in this year’s RBS 6 Nations, left Adams Park last summer for a switch to big-spending French side Brive.

But the 30-year-old, who also toured South Africa with the British & Irish Lions a year ago, has struggled to make an impact in the Top 14.

Flutey helped Wasps win the Premiership in 2008 but has made just five appearances because of two shoulder injuries and said: “I am delighted to be returning home to the UK and to London Wasps.

“I would like to thank Brive for the opportunity and experience, which I have enjoyed, but I am now fully focussed on getting my injury niggles behind me and getting back to my best level as a player.”
