The iconic band will be performing at some of the most storied rugby venues in the Guinness Men's Six Nations, including the Principality Stadium in Cardiff - which will host the opening concerts - and Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh.
"The guns have fallen silent. The stars have aligned. The great wait is over. Come see. It will not be televised." So read the post by Oasis, announcing the reunion, and the 'great wait' is indeed over, with Cardiff hosting their first concert since 2009.
For many rugby fans, Oasis holds a special place in the heart of the sport. Their classic hit 'Wonderwall' became the unofficial anthem of the 1997 British and Irish Lions tour to South Africa, a series that still resonates with fans today. The emotional connection between the band and rugby culture is undeniable, making this reunion tour - and the chosen venues - even more special. As Oasis return to the stage, they’ll be performing in venues that have witnessed some of rugby’s greatest moments, bringing full circle the band’s role in the sport’s folklore.
Following hot on the heels of Taylor Swift's smash-hit concerts at the same Cardiff and Edinburgh stadiums, Oasis will also be performing at two other venues that are part of the Championship's history. Welsh fans still delight at the memory of their dramatic 1999 win against England at Wembley Stadium, while Croke Park hosted some outstanding encounters in the late 2000s while the Aviva Stadium was being renovated.
One of the highlights of the tour will undoubtedly be the performance at Cardiff's Principality Stadium. The chance to see Oasis perform in such a quintessential rugby setting is a dream come true for fans. Cardiff has always been a city that wears its love for music and rugby on its sleeve, and this concert is set to be an unforgettable celebration of both.
