Italy held an eleven-point lead after the break in Cardiff when, from their lineout, the ball zipped quickly through the backs' hands, finally reaching Pani. The confident 21-year-old, part of a new generation of Azzurri talent, beat the first defender before fending Wales centre Nick Tompkins to score the most memorable of tries.
In the fan vote, Pani's try saw off other impressive tries from Nolann Le Garrec, Duhan van der Merwe, and Calvin Nash.
