Picamoles has been among France’s stand-out players as Les Bleus have racked up two wins from two so far against England and Italy.

The No.8 led the way against Italy, scoring his side’s first try which opened the floodgates in Paris, leading to a 30-10 victory.

It’s a far cry from 12 months ago when France did not record a win in the Championship until their fifth and final game and Picamoles is relishing the test that awaits at the Millennium Stadium.

He said: “This group has done enormously well to pick up two victories. They will savour it but we have to make the most of it.

“The players will rejoin their clubs and then we will gather again to prepare for the match against Wales which will be the pivotal match of the tournament.

“The key match will be the trip to Wales which will determine our objectives for the rest of the tournament.

“There was a little bit of a bitter taste in respect of what happened last year (against Italy).

“We didn’t enter the pitch seeking revenge, we just wanted to validate the work we did during the week and secure a second victory to continue our ambition for the rest of the tournament.”
