A grandmother was treated to a special moment after Saturday’s clash in Cardiff as the Welsh team came to speak to her after the game.
The supporter, 82-year-old Maureen McColl, was attending her very first game at Principality Stadium, as Wales came from behind to beat England and go top of the Guinness Six Nations table.
After telling a Natalka Leszniwskyj – an England supporter who knows Wales flanker Aaron Wainwright – that it was her first match, Ms McColl was told to wait after the game, and in a touching gesture, a number of Welsh players came over to chat to her.
Along with Wainwright, Elliot Dee, Owen Watkin, Adam Beard, Nicky Smith, Dillon Lewis and Aled Davies went to speak to Ms McColl and the moment was captured on social media.
Leszniwskyj said: “Honestly made the match when an old lady came over to us and said that it was her first-ever game at the stadium. We told her to hang around after. Thanks to Wales for staying a while after to meet her.”
The photo has since gone viral, with supporters from all countries paying tribute to the Welsh team for their generosity after the game.
