In July, Emiliano Boffelli was the hero in the deciding third Test with a last-gasp try and conversion to edge out the visitors 34-31.
And Argentina’s ace kicker has returned to the city he represents in the United Rugby Championship hoping to make it three wins from four over Gregor Townsend’s men.
Scotland had won the five previous clashes between the two nations until Michael Cheika’s side claimed a 26-18 victory in San Salvador de Jujuy four and half months ago.
Townsend retains Russell
Finn Russell has kept hold of the No.10 jersey for the match at BT Murrayfield after returning to the fold last week for the 31-23 defeat to New Zealand.
And Townsend has stuck with the majority of the squad that pushed the All Blacks close, making only two changes to the starting XV, both enforced.
Glasgow loose forward and former Wallaby Jack Dempsey has a debut start at No.8 in place of Hamish Watson who is suffering from concussion.
Matt Fagerson switches to blindside while captain Jamie Ritchie starts on the other flank.
The only other alteration sees Jonny Gray stepping in for his suspended brother Richie in a straight second row swap.
Despite the relative stability in the starting line-up, there are sweeping changes on the bench with George Turner, Jamie Bhatti, Murphy Walker, Glen Young, Andy Christie and Cameron Redpath all coming in.
Montoya returns as captain
Cheika has made four changes to the Argentina starting XV that were defeated 20-13 by Wales last weekend with Julian Montoya returning as skipper.
The hooker was a late withdrawal from the match at Principality Stadium with a rib complaint but has recovered to take the place of Agustin Creevy.
And next to the Leicester Tigers man is Eduardo Bello who replaces Francisco Gomez Kodela.
The final two alterations come in the backline, as Matias Orlando starts at outside centre with Matias Moroni on the replacements bench.
Newcastle Falcons winger Mateo Carreras is not involved in the matchday 23 altogether, with 25-year-old Bautista Delguy earning his first start since the third Test against Scotland in the summer.
Also in line for a first appearance since the 2-1 series victory is experienced fly-half Nicolas Sanchez who suffered a torn calf muscle in the first Test.
