Scotland capitalised on Welsh ill-discipline to secure a rare Under-20 Six Nations victory, claiming a 27-12 win at the Hive Stadium, Edinburgh.

Head coach Kenny Murray made four changes to the Scotland line-up, including a debut for centre Angus Hunter. Douglas, who earned a senior Scotland cap against Portugal in November 2024, delivered a player-of-the-match performance to inspire his side.

Wales suffered an early setback when fly-half Harri Ford was forced off with an ankle injury, bringing Harri Wilde into the action. Full-back Tom Bowen provided an early spark, but it was Scotland who struck first, with Douglas powering over.

Franklin’s "croc roll" clear-out on Moncrieff saw Wales temporarily reduced to 14 men, though they responded well as Emanuel muscled his way over, with Wilde adding the extras.

However, a misfired Welsh line-out handed Scotland their second try, as a loose throw was pounced on, leading to a slick attack finished by Brown after a pinpoint cross-kick and Moncrieff offload.

Wales’ task became even tougher when Cottle saw red for a reckless challenge on Scotland scrum-half Noah Cowan.

Back to 14 men in the second half, Wales showed fight as Thomas capitalised on a Scottish line-out mistake to cut the deficit. But Scotland weathered the storm, with replacement fly-half Isaac Coates slotting a penalty before Douglas put the result beyond doubt with his second try.

Having won just once in their previous 23 Six Nations matches—also against Wales in 2023—the young Scots held firm against their depleted opponents. Meanwhile, Wales, aiming for a third consecutive victory in the Championship for the first time since 2017, saw their hopes unravel through indiscipline.
