Ben Healy said Ireland Under-20s allowed themselves approximately two minutes to enjoy their Championship win before all attentions turned to a Grand Slam.
Ireland secured a dramatic 31-29 victory over France on Friday night at Irish Independent Park to make it four wins from four in the 2019 Championship.
And with Scotland Under-20s downing Wales at Meggetland, Ireland’s victory secured the title with a round to spare.
But Healy – who kicked 16 points for the hosts in his first Ireland Under-20s start – insists focus has already turned to their clash with Wales and a shot at sporting immortality.
“It just sums up the group there. We had about two minutes of celebrating and then it was all back in the huddle,” he said.
“There is a Grand Slam on the line and that was the message from the coaches and the players.
“We feel we are a team that can go on and win the Grand Slam, we are not happy with just winning the Championship.
“The mood is very good now but all heads are in for next week.”
In front of a packed house at Irish Independent Park, Josh Wycherley crossed twice for the hosts in the victory.
Louis Carbonel kept Les Bleuets in touch with a fine personal outing for the defending champions but in the end Ireland held on for a famous win and can now dream of a first Grand Slam at this age-group.
“It’s incredible to have just won the Six Nations,” added Healy.
“To be playing in the decider here in front of what looked like a packed house again, it’s just absolutely incredible.
“And what a great brunch to do it with, it’s just a fantastic experience to have under your belt.
“We kept saying to ourselves, go back to our processes. There is a plan in place for a reason so no need to go away from that.
“Sometimes in rugby mistakes happen, everyone is human and I made plenty tonight but we stuck to what we have prepared for.”
