MUSIC STAR CREATES CHAMPIONSHIP TRACK

A Guinness Women’s Six Nations-inspired track by two-time Grammy-nominated artist Kelli-Leigh has dropped.

South London singer Kelli-Leigh, in conjunction with Wavze, set out to produce a song that intertwines the ever-growing women’s Championship with other areas of life that are important to fans, such as fashion, art and creativity.

In the spirit of capturing all those elements, Kelli-Leigh - whose music has racked up millions of plays, not least with modern club classics such as ‘More Than Friends’ and ‘I Got U' - attended the Guinness Women’s Six Nations launch earlier this month to take inspiration from each nation’s captain.

Speaking to the players, Kelli-Leigh heard the words and phrases that are the driving force behind the teams, whose campaigns got underway last weekend. The themes that emerged were diverse and aligned at the same time: from being relentless and daring, to the suffering required to compete at the highest level.

The artist then took those ideas away to create ‘Motherland’, which is available to listen to now on Spotify and Apple.

Ireland: Relentless

Scotland: Together

England: One In, All in

Wales: Herstory

Italy: Insieme (We Believe)

France: Qui ose gagne (Who Dares Wins)
