Bryan Easson has called up four uncapped players to his 31-strong Scotland squad for the Women’s Six Nations.
Evie Gallagher, Shona Campbell, Coreen Grant and Evie Wills will be looking to make their international debuts, while Elizabeth Musgrove and Loughborough Lightning scrum-half Jenny Maxwell return to the squad following lengthy injury spells.
Rachel Malcolm will continue as captain as Scotland look to improve on their 2020 campaign, where they lost two and drew one of the three matches they played.
Head coach Easson said: “We are very much looking forward to the return of Test rugby and I’m really pleased for the players that they will be back on the pitch after a turbulent few months.
“I’ve been really encouraged by the squad’s attitude and focus in our recent training weekends and the upcoming Championship provides a great opportunity to showcase all of our hard work.”
Scotland open their campaign with a mouth-watering trip to England in Round 1, where they hope to emulate the men’s team and claim a famous away win.
They then host Italy two weeks later at Scotstoun, before finishing with a home match on Super Saturday against the side that finishes in the equivalent position in Pool B.
