The Scotland v England Women’s Six Nations match scheduled for Sunday February 9, has been postponed due to extreme weather associated with Storm Ciara.
The game was due to kick off at 12:10pm at Scotstoun Stadium but the decision has been taken for player, spectator and staff safety after consultation between Scottish Rugby, local authorities, Glasgow Life, Six Nations and the RFU.
England won their opening game of the 2020 Women’s Six Nations away to France, while Scotland lost to Ireland in Round 1.
Wind speeds of up to 70mph are forecast today, so the decision was made to postpone the game.
A Scottish Rugby spokesperson said: “It is very disappointing to have to take this decision but given the extreme weather conditions and with supporters, players and staff safety being paramount it’s the correct decision
“We will always put safety first. I’d like to apologise to fans for any inconvenience Storm Ciara has caused and we will update them with more information on the rescheduling on the game.”
The rearranged date for the game will be announced in due course, while ticketholders for the match will automatically receive a full refund by Friday 14 February, removing any requirement to contact the Scottish Rugby ticket office.
